How to Measure Your Hand
Hand Circumference
Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your hand — just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Keep snug, not tight. This is your primary measurement.
Hand Length
Measure from the tip of your middle finger straight down to the base crease of your palm at the wrist. This matters more for driving and dress gloves.

Sizing Notes by Glove Type
Fashion / Dress
Cut slim and true-to-size. Size up if between measurements.
Work / Safety
Follow EN 420 standard (EU sizes 6–11). Allow full finger extension without palm bunching.
Athletic / Sports
Alpha sizing with built-in stretch. Hand length matters more than circumference.
Winter / Insulated
Size up 0.5–1 to layer over liner gloves comfortably.
Touchscreen
Snug fit at fingertips is essential for conductivity — do not size up.
Driving
Measure hand length in addition to circumference. Tight finger fit is intentional for grip.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a size 8 glove in cm?
A size 8 corresponds to a hand circumference of 19–21 cm (approximately 7.5–8 inches). This is a Men's Medium in most international sizing systems.
What size glove is 20 cm?
A 20 cm hand circumference falls in the Men's size 8 / Medium range. For women's sizing, this would be a size 7.5 (Large). Use the calculator above for a precise recommendation.
How do I know if I need a men's or women's glove?
Beyond circumference, men's and women's gloves differ in finger length and palm width. Women's gloves have a narrower palm and shorter fingers. If you have wider hands, a Men's Small may fit better than a Women's Medium even if circumference is similar.
Is EU glove sizing the same as US sizing?
Yes — EU and US numeric glove sizes (6–12) use the same scale based on hand circumference in inches. The key variation is in how individual brands grade their patterns, which is why measuring before ordering is always recommended.
How do I write glove sizes on a tech pack for manufacturing?
Always specify: (1) hand circumference range in CM per size, (2) hand length in CM, (3) finger length if design-critical, and (4) ease allowance. Never rely on alpha sizing alone — factories in different regions grade differently. A "Medium" can vary by 1–2 cm between suppliers.
What's the average glove size for men and women?
The average man wears a size 9–10 (Large, 21–25 cm circumference). The average woman wears a size 7–7.5 (Medium–Large, 17.5–21 cm). These averages vary across regions and demographics.
